Many hundreds of dollars later, J., myself, and one other still to be determined will be watching the Flyers' home opener on October 11 (vs. the Rangers) from the same seats we were in for last year's home opener -- two rows from the ice, and right against the glass to the Flyers' tunnel, a pane of glass that is all that kept me from putting my arm around Niittymaki while we took in the game.

I think we must be crazy. But J. doesn't get out here for many games; it will be worth it.

(I think she's been spoiled. She hasn't ever sat up in the rafters where the seats are <$50!)

Pre-season games start September 22, at home vs. the Devils. I don't think I'll go to a pre-season game this year, but nothing can be ruled out. I might get antsy to see the Flyers. Six weeks until the home opener!? WOOOO!

Going to Colorado and Utah next week. I'll take a Flyers t-shirt or something, take a picture somewhere out west with the orange and black on.

I was looking at the pre-season schedule and decided that this year I won't go to any of the games ... save my cash for the games that "count." Also factored into this decision was the realization that I will never be able to get a ticket for the game that will be played in the Spectrum. Not unless I want to make a financial sacrifice that I don't think I am willing to make (given that I may have to make a similar sacrifice for the home opener, as well as the financial sacrifice that will be buying a new TV as I promised myself I would when the new season starts).

Oh well.

As I was using the ATM here at work this morning, a coworker walked by and said to me, "It's almost Flyers season."

I like that. Flyers season.

Just a little bit more than two months! WOOO!
